Dear all delegates, colleagues, ladies and gentlemen

It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you all to the Asia Pacific Federation Congress 2026 of the International College of Surgeons (ICS) from 12 to 13 November 2026 at the Asia Hotel in Bangkok. The Hotel is conveniently located directly next to the Ratchathewi BTS Station (Sky train) with a dedicated walkway linking the station to the hotel. It is just one stop away from the Siam BTS interchange station.

This year, the ICS Pacific Federation Congress and the ICS Asia Federation Congress will join together in Bangkok. The Congress is also jointly organized by the Association of General Surgeons of Thailand (AGST) and supported by the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand.

The scientific program, including named lectures and many other advances and current updates in surgery, other specialties and subspecialties, has been arranged educationally and superbly by our Scientific Program Committee. Pre-congress workshops, especially the hands-on training in oncoplastic breast surgery using fresh cadavers, have also been arranged for those interested. Our speakers are well known specialists in their fields from ICS Asia and Pacific Federations and also from leaders and executives of the International College of Surgeons.

An information booth for tours will also be provided for spouses and accompanying persons during the congress and for those who wish to spend a few extra days after the Congress in Bangkok or in other well-known destinations like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai in the north, or Hua Hin, Krabi, Phuket, Phi Phi, Koh Samui in the south, or Pattaya in the east. November is one of the best months to visit Thailand. Temperatures are pleasant, generally ranging between 25-33 degrees Celsius.

We do hope that you will very much enjoy the scientific program and the social functions, have the opportunity to meet with old friends and to make new ones, and enjoy the sightseeing tours in Bangkok and the vicinity, as well as other attractions in Thailand.

Thank you in advance for your kind support. I hope that you will all enjoy and have a memorable time at the ICS Asia Pacific Federation Congress 2026 in Bangkok.

Sincerely,

Nopadol Wora-Urai, MD, FRCST, FICS (Hon), FACS, FRCSEd, FAMS, FRACS (Hon), FASA (Hon), FCSSL (Hon)
